Project keyVCS-669Project descriptionThe project activity involves the implementation of 159.75 MW capacity wind power project consisting of 136 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) in Tirunelveli, Dindigul and Coimbatore districts of Tamil Nadu, and Hassan and Chitradurga districts of Karnataka. All the WTGs have been commissioned.The power generated from wind energy is considered to be carbon neutral and hence does not contribute to any additional green house gas emissions. The project activity would generate about 324 GWh of electricity annually which would replace equivalent quantum of power at the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (BESCOM) and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Ltd (CESC). Thus , the purpose of the project activity is to generate electricity from wind.
