Project keyVCS-264Project descriptionThe Kargilik 24 MW Hydropower Plant, Turkey, which is developed by Tektug Elektrik Uretim Anonim Sirketi (hereafter referred to as the project owner) is a run-of-river hydropower project located in Kahramanmaras province, Turkey. It utilizes the gross water head of 150m on the Kesis River to generate and supply electricity from clean and renewable resources. Total installed capacity of the project is 24 MWe, consisting of 2 turbines, with a predicted net power supply to the grid of 71,000 MWh4 per annum. The actual performance in 2006 - 2008 has been below this expected value, which can be attributed to the general drought in recent years.
